In 2012 Thor F. Jensen and Kay Polaniok, became the first danes to reach Bornholm by kayak.
The adventure was captured in the film “Salty Sideburns”, an award winning adventure film, about the two friends attempt to kayak from Copenhagen to Bornholm – the easternmost island in Denmark.

Salty Sideburns started as an 7 episode web series. which later was converted into a 38 min. film. The film premiered in December 2013 at Danish Adventure Film Festival (D.A.F.F.) Where it was awarded “Best Danish Adventure Film 2013”.
The Danish version is available on Vimeo on Demand from Dec 2014.
An english version has been submitted to several international festivals.

When the trip was announced in 2012:
Kay Polaniok and Thor F Jensen will be the first ever paddle kayak from Copenhagen to Bornholm.
The tour starts July 6. 2012th
They will cross the Øresund, paddle Sweden’s south coast and then cross the 38 km open water of the Bornholm. Then they explore the island and returns to Køge via the ferry.
The two main goals of the trip is to enjoy life, and produce an inspiring kayak film.
